The line between criticism and trashing of the party

It seems to me there should be a line between 1)expressing disappointment and anger at Democrats (Obama in particular) and 2)writing them off as hopelessly corrupt or owned by corporate forces.

I see many comments of the second type. If this is how someone feels, is this the place for them? Are we not united in at least generally supporting the Democratic party?

1. My experience here on DU leads me to the belief...

...that despite the criticism of Democrats that gets posted here, when it's election time the vast majority of DUers do the right thing and support the Democrats.

People are upset about the tax deal, and they are grasping for explanations. I do not think this is a discussion that we should be afraid of.

I spend time in the DU moderator forum and read alerts. I know what gets posted here.
