Why was my post in the "Assange calls Sweden the Saudi Arabia of feminists" deleted?

Upon reflection, I assume it had something to do with my sarcastic use of the phrase "sluts," but in the context of the post, it is very clear that I was pointedly remarking on the attitudes of those who have denigrated Assange's accusers. I have seen the phrase "slut shaming" used by feminists on this forum to decry the similar practice of blaming (alleged) rape victims, and I have never seen such posts deleted. Similarly, I have seen LGBT posters remark upon "fag bashing" in a way that was clearly designed to mock the bigoted attitudes of people who would use words like that as slurs, and again, those posts were not deleted. Therefore, it seems capricious and unnecessary that my post was deleted while I have seen extremely similar sarcastic uses of the word "slut" allowed. I do hope the admins and mods understood that I was not actually calling any woman a "slut." If you could clarify why my post was deleted specifically, and more broadly, whether or not we are now forbidden from using certain words even to make an obvious point that such words are harmful, I would appreciate it.

1. You are correct.
Yes, it was removed for the use of the term "sluts." Based on the discussion in the mod forum, it is apparent that the moderators understood you were being sarcastic. This is really one of those tough situations that I am highly ambivalent about. I know you were using it in a way that did not approve of the term, but somehow people still take offense at seeing these types of words used, no matter what the context. In practice, our policy usually ends up being something like this: we let it stay unless people complain -- which they did.

Sorry.

2. I see.
Thank you for your explanation, and I appreciate the incredibly tough task the mods have in trying to toe the line.
