http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x78348#78629Upon reflection, I assume it had something to do with my sarcastic use of the phrase "sluts," but in the context of the post, it is very clear that I was pointedly remarking on the attitudes of those who have denigrated Assange's accusers. I have seen the phrase "slut shaming" used by feminists on this forum to decry the similar practice of blaming (alleged) rape victims, and I have never seen such posts deleted. Similarly, I have seen LGBT posters remark upon "fag bashing" in a way that was clearly designed to mock the bigoted attitudes of people who would use words like that as slurs, and again, those posts were not deleted. Therefore, it seems capricious and unnecessary that my post was deleted while I have seen extremely similar sarcastic uses of the word "slut" allowed. I do hope the admins and mods understood that I was not actually calling any woman a "slut." If you could clarify why my post was deleted specifically, and more broadly, whether or not we are now forbidden from using certain words even to make an obvious point that such words are harmful, I would appreciate it.
