I'd like to revisit one of HuckleB's questions.

This one, about anti-vaccine threads in the Health forum. Skinner, are you basically writing off the Health forum then as another dungeon? There are a lot of useful threads and plenty of newsworthy stories that get posted in there, but they get buried by the anti-vaccine posts. Not only that, but one of the goals of the anti-vaccine movement is to erode the public's faith in vaccines. This in itself is a very dangerous concept that I don't think DU wants to be seen as considering valid.

I think anti-vaccine threads should go to the 9/11 forum, which is generally used as a dumping grounds for ALL wacky conspiracy stuff - which is what the anti-vaccine movement is. Could you please reconsider? If not, could you perhaps give some thought to classifying certain anti-vaccine/quack source sites (mercola.com, judicialwatch.org, nvic.org, etc.) as conspiracy/junk sites and not valid for DU discussion, like you do with certain other sites?

Sadly, distrust of vaccines is very common, and very dangerous. I would rather that people be given the opportunity to debunk the misinformation and misunderstandings.
