Why are some OPs locked, while others are removed?
Edited on Sun Jul-03-11 02:07 PM by ZombieHorde
What qualifies an OP for removal, as opposed to being locked?

edit to add: shouldn't those who have their OPs removed be PMed the reason? When an OP is locked, a reason is usually offered; e.g., call out, personal attack, etc, but when an OP is removed, the creator of the OP has to guess the reason. Clearly pointing out TOS violations helps posters figure out what is allowed and what is not allowed.

1. I believe you are referring to a particular thread of yours
that was deleted; the reason it was deleted is because the moderators considered it to be a copycat thread. Copycat threads are not permitted in the General Discussion forum because they can get out of control very quickly (when lots of members "catch on" and start posting them one after the other) which is why we delete them entirely and don't just lock them.
