It is not my fault if what a poster posts at this website is a lie.

The lies in question are:

- the Canadian Firearms Registry has cost "billions".
As my post proved, this is a LIE fabricated by an extreme right-wing politician who has admitted fabricating it.

- there has been 1% compliance with the registration requirement
I can't even begin to guess where this nonsense was dredged up from.
(posted by someone else in the same thread)

I did not call the poster a liar, I did not say he lied. I said what he posted was a lie, and IT IS.

Surely one cannot repeat lies told by third parties with impunity, and expect no one to say what they are.

If someone were to post gross, outright, right-wing lies about a Democratic administration's policies at Democratic Underground, would this really be tolerated?

Is posting lying right-wing liars' lying right-wing memes as if they were true acceptable here?

1. You are permitted to call someone's post false.
But when you call it a lie, you are accusing the poster of deliberately engaging in dishonest behavior. In other words, it's a personal attack.

If you want to post that someone's post is a lie cooked-up by someone else, then you should make clear what you are trying to say so that there is no misunderstanding.
