the thread --
Basically, what happened was a thread was posted in "Late Breaking News" -- and was
posted to "General Discuss" after quite a few people had "replied" --
I'm guess about 40-50 replies, but I have a head cold right now and I'm not sure of too much!
After the move, you see in your DU postings that someone has replied to a post on that thread.
You follow the link and you get a message which is confusing -- seems to suggest there was
something wrong with the thread. It doesn't actually say that the thread was "moved elsewhere."
Also suggests, "if you have any questions about this thread" contact the Mod.
Not very clear at all about what is happening.
So now, you have to go back to your DU list and hit not your comment -- but the SUBJECT --
and finally you get to a message which tells you that the thread has been moved and gives you
a link to it.
Now, the people who originally replied don't always want to bother this complicated pathway
to refind the thread -- so the thread pretty much becomes inactive.
What I'm saying is . . .
When the MOD decides to move the thread, they know it is going into "General" in this case....
so post it there FIRST and pick up a link to it -- then instead of a mysterious and confusing
message you would get immediately relinked to the thread.
I'm sure one of the MODS can explain this to you --
It's not always something from "Late breaking" into "General" ... it could be "General" into
"health" for one!! But the momentum of the thread is immediately lost.
Next time this happens, I'll post specifics to you --
Thanks --
