Wisconsin - No recall on Grothman

http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/news/121091813.html

<snip>

Organizers of a recall campaign against Sen. Glenn Grothman (R-West Bend) announced Monday morning that they do not have enough signatures to force him into an election.

No official word yet from the other recall campaign that faces a deadline today -- that of Sen. Mary Lazich (R-New Berlin) -- but an announcement is expected Monday afternoon.

Waring Fincke, the West Bend attorney who has been a key organizer of the Grothman recall campaign, said the group had collected more than 15,000 signatures since papers were filed against Grothman and seven other Republican state senators on March 2. But it needed 20,061 to force him into an election.

A statement from the recall group said the signatures were "a strong foundation for future campaigns."

<end snip>

Or as one Urinal / Sentinel blogger wrote: "The last democrat to run in this district was only able to get about 17,000 votes, so the recall group had a tough row to hoe.
Valiant effort... "

4. Thank-you to those who worked on the signature drive!
It's too bad that the "Slob"-slinger, embarrassment to WI, can't be recalled.

But I recognize the effort of those who attempted the recall in a rather red district.

Thanks again for your efforts!!!!!!!!!
