100s Of Homeless Kids Live Outside Disney
100s Of Homeless Kids Live Outside Disney
School Districts Still In Need Of Donations

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- A "60 Minutes" special about homeless children in Central Florida spurred a flurry of donations in March, but contributions have dwindled as attention faded from the growing problem.

The special profiled students in Seminole County, but the problem plagues every Central Florida county. There are hundreds of homeless children living just outside Disney World in Osceola County.

A record number of foreclosures has forced families, like the Jordan family, from their homes. The family of four crams into a 200-square-foot motel room every night. At $168 a week, the family scrounges to save up enough money to stay off the streets.

Father Miguel Jordan works in a kitchen at Disney and Yachira Jordan works at Wendy's.

did a good film on this. It's on HBO on demand now, under documentries.

I like her films, she's always nice and asks good questions.

On edit: One good thing...the kids said they like being able to see the fireworks every night. Oh, and another good thing, there is a school in the area that cares for the homeless kids during the day anyway.

11. Yes, and it's a good film.
It shows the kids adapting as best they can to their environment while also showing glimpses of the tremendous stress many of them feel.
