they hope by releasing it, it'll inflame more terrorists and create more attacks on the US and say that President Obama makes us less safe.

Plus....the left side of his head is gone...not anything we can use to validate Osama as we only know him thru pictures that are over 10 years old. I am satisfied now. To appease , have Colin Powell or someone of great credibility validate through an interview discussion describing the confirmation evidence.

7. You may be right although...
I actually want them to release the picture as well. I suppose over morbid curiosity than anything else and I actually am not afraid of inflaming terrorists with the photos. It's like if your wife is pregnant and you have sex is she going to get MORE pregnant?

9. I know that's the thought but my analogy applies a different template to the issue
I said a pregnant woman can't get any MORE pregnant. Likewise we killed the head of an organization utterly devoted to our destruction and to the death of all infidels. It's hard to get much MORE extreme than that. I'm just not worried about the photos.

but if the photos are published, there will be.

It would indeed be like flaunting a hunting trophy. VERY bad taste, very inflammatory and unnecessary.

If OBL is still alive, I'm sure he'll surface soon to crow about how we got the wrong guy.

What you're suggesting is that every Muslim is a latent murder capable of being incited to genocide by photos of a mass murderer who got his comeuppance. Look the jihadists will talk fire and brimstone like they always do but even they know the game - OBL killed thousands of Americans and USA killed OBL. It's expected, they'll feign outrage for everything it's worth and then move on to the next outrage.

the conspiracy theories are there with or without photos. In fact, I'm sure there will be as many "experts" in Photoshop who will crawl out of the woodwork as there were when Obama's "long form" birth certificate was released.

I keep waiting for a huge Muslim protest coverage on my TV machine over the US killing of mass murdering scumbag Bin Laden but so far the Muslim world seems almost silently glad he's gone. Much to the anger of people that want to find ANY reason to hate on Obama.

I'm sure if he would have released the photos the Repugs would have taken the other side and said that he shouldn't have. I think the President made a good decision on these photos. No sense to stoke the fires out there.
