Nancy Pelosi blesses li'l ol Georgie W, Bush's heart...
RW websites are falling all over themselves reporting a phone call Nancy Pelosi made "congratulating" him on "his role" in the defeat of Osama bin Laden. But to a one, I haven't seen them include this last line--READ IT CAREFULLY.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), the former House Speaker and a passionate critic of President George W. Bush, said she called the former president to thank him for his role in getting Osama bin Laden, the New York Times reports.

Said Pelosi: "He is a very friendly person, as you know, and he thanked me for my call. And I think he appreciated it. But I wanted him to know the appreciation that many of us have in a bipartisan way. We have all recognized in our public comments that his role was important in having this success."

Translated: "We know he failed, but we are magnanimous, and his only success in the matter was getting out of the WH."

I do declare that Mr. Bush was just slapped in public with a dainty kidskin glove.

3. Sorry, I don't see it...
He shouldn't have been mentioned at all. Period. The only time his name should be mentioned by any prominent Democrat is to remind people of his quote that he just didn't care about Bin Laden and wasn't that concerned about his whereabouts.

It's reading waaaaaaaay too deep into her statements and relying on a very vague interpretation that this was any kind of slap in the face at all.

5. Yeah, I mean I can see what you're hanging this on...
But I'm sorry. The fact that they are saying anything at all positive about Bush, all the while the right is spinning it as having nothing to do with Obama and everything to do with Bush.......they are the ones that are politicizing it. I agree that they (our side) shouldn't necessarily return volley and politicize it as being all about Obama. I'm o.k. with that. But there is a world of difference between not politicizing it outwardly in Obama's favor, and giving Bush any credit at all.

But hey. That's what our modern Democratic party is about. Making sure they play nice and don't hurt the wittle feelings of people who hate them and want to destroy them.
