"It's irritating when an intern friends me while they work with me, unfriend me after their internship is through, and after a year of unsuccessful job searching tries to friend me again."

3. This is not how one gets ahead.
Never smart to burn bridges in politics. If you want to survive and get ahead one must be more clever than that intern. OTOH - its stupid for the "official" to make it public. He/she just looks small. Result - two losers.

The fact that they work for a state party doesn't mean that they don't post what's on their mind on facebook.
