Mark this one up: Thou shall not stereotype...or else.

I was watching a news show that brought the info below to my attention. I chuckled when he ended his report that the police were counting on the ring to involuntarily hang up their hats.

Thieving Grandma’s: Crime ring of “Mad-Hatters”

Detroit – In the posh suburb of Sterling Heights, Detroit, authorities are in search of group of older women who have stolen, at least, $500,000.00.

Authorities are saying that the crime ring of older ladies has victimized people all over the state of Michigan.

What they do….

The ladies pickpocket unsuspecting victims, and use their credit cards and stolen money to go on shopping sprees.

The group, of at least a half dozen older women, wears “hats” to disguise themselves while they do their crimes. In one incident earlier this year, one of the Mad-Hatters stole an envelope of money out of the shopping cart of a woman bending down to pick up coupons that had fallen.

When the victim noticed that her money was stolen, she noticed an elderly lady speeding away from the area.
