Michael Steele likes Newt Gingrich
Source: Politico

Former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele says the current crop of presidential candidates has to “kick it up a notch.”

On Wednesday Steele made clear former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is just the guy to do so.

Steele on Wednesday lavished praise on the former House speaker in a POLITICO Arena Chat, touting the White House hopeful’s knowledge of government, and network of connections.

“I think it’s going to push everybody’s game up a little bit to keep up with this guy,” said Steele, who headed the RNC from 2009-11 and was previously lieutenant governor of Maryland.

1. I love this
Newt "kicking it up a notch".

Sure doesn't say much about the current list of candidates if Newt "kicks it up", does it?

9. I think he meant to say, now Republicons can better "kick America in the crotch."
Edited on Wed May-11-11 12:52 PM by SpiralHawk
But historically republicons have grave difficulty articulating what they really mean...

Newt's a toad, but he's no dummy. I think his presence will indeed make debates more interesting. Plus, he'll lose, no matter how many times he talks with CBN about being sorry for loving the country so much that he wworked so hard for it that he ended up cheating on his wives.

Not many adulterers have the courage to blame the nation for their misdeeds. (This, from the guy who impeached Clinton for getting a bj while working for his country.)

Ah, what a tangled web we weave when we're being smarmy with CBN!

5. Maybe Newt's string of wives...
could be characterized as "tough love". As in: when the going gets tough, you find someone new to love.

"As someone who has himself Screwed the Republicon Pooch exceedingly effectively -- using the G.O.P. Credit Card for famously frolicking in a Faux Lesbian Rentboy B & D Luggage-Handling Club -- I am Pleased as Punch to endorse the perversely peculiar Republicon Family Values of The Newtie.

"We republicons NEED another draft-dodging, wife-dumping assclown to, um, represent what we stand for. The Newtie is Totally Our Dude, in this regard."

14. Michael Who?
There's another one who, like Palin, needs to just fade away from the political scene. Like Palin (and, for that matter, every other republican hopeful), he contributes nothing to the national dialogue.
