Here is some good news for a change
Yesterday I had to go to the VA for another CT scan of my chest and while there I had to wait in several waiting rooms. No long waits just a lot of different things to do. The news is, not one of the Televisions in any of the waiting rooms had fox on. Used to be I'd have to raise a ruckus to let them know that this old veteran didn't approve of their airing propaganda. Yesterday it was like I entered a whole new world. I think that someone some where has made a decision that the local VA center wouldn't be showing anymore fox noise propaganda.
This is so different than it used to be I was almost like stunned by the absence of fox noise. All the teevees were tuned to local television stations, ABC, CBS, or NBC.

This I think is another reason to be proud of our President for bringing to the forefront the fact that fox noise is not a legitimate news source.

1. If places must have tvs on, it should always be set to a "generic"
channel.. NEVER on Fox..

2. maybe they got enough complaints both ways so they put it on something benign now.
any 'news' channel might be problematic. but i am glad to hear they don't put it on there.

3. Actually that is positive news
Thanks. It was always disturbing to know tv stations in public places were tuned into Fox.

4. At the Clinic here in Austin they don't have it on Fox
Usually CNN or the local cable news channel.
Now when I go up to Temple it's a different story. About half of them have it on Fox.

5. That's good to hear
I haven't been there lately, but the TV's at my local VA used to always be on Fox.

I know of one McDonald's that changed its default TV station from Fox to CNN last year, and I visited another that--surprise!--was tuned to MSNBC. But I suspect the changes have more to do with the "Turn Off Fox" campaigns than with the President.

But enough about the "Lupus of news." How did your tests come out? I hope they found you fit as a fiddle--even if you do have abnormally high levels of piss and vinegar. :)

:hi:

6. Very good news, Madokie..
We need a "Fox Free" America, but if we can't have that yet,

we could at least insist that our government services refrain

from issuing political propaganda.

9. At the local military health clinic I go to, half the time it's Fox and half the time
it is CNN. I commented on the FOX, saying I didn't think it was right to have it on since the channel did nothing but denigrate our Commander-in-Chief, and the lady told me they got complaints constantly either way. Most of the people there are older and tend to watch FOX news more than other stations so they got complaints constantly that it wasn't turned to FOX. To try to placate everyone, they had it so that some days it shows FOX and other days it shows CNN.

But apparently they are deluged with complaints no matter what station they put on. Just another sign of the times I guess.

I have a feeling though that as the prime FOX news demographic dies off (the average viewer of FOX is over 65 I read) FOX news itself will either die off completely or have to change a lot.
