Funny Freepers: "Bush Eating Souffle when Obama called about OBL"
Edited on Fri May-13-11 10:17 AM by maxrandb
I know I shouldn't, but sometimes the humor is soooooo enticing that I can't help myself.

Thread is about President Obama calling to let former "pretzledent" Bush know about getting OBL, and the majority of freakers react to the "effeminate" menu of Commander Codpiece.

"Real men don't eat no damn soo-flay"

BTW - I actually like souffle, but I'm secure in my manhood.

“I was eating souffle at Rise Restaurant with Laura and two buddies,” Bush said when asked what he was doing when he received the call from President Obama....”
“President Barack Obama called Bush in Dallas at 9:04 p.m. central time ...”

How about, “I was eating DINNER” or “I was having a late snack.”

Real men don't admit to eating a souffle, or even knowing what one is!

“You can add minced fresh herbs such as chives, chervil, parsley or tarragon to the yolk mixture. You can also add Gruyere cheese finely grated or your cheese of choice. A red wine butter sauce (see recipe below) with shaved fresh truffles is the ultimate option!”

A REAL man always has truffles, Gruyere cheese, and chervil on hand just in case he wants to make a special souffle.

Also, Bush didn't say he was eating a souffle, he said he was eating a soofull.

What PR wizbang thought it was a good idea to reference “souffle” with Bid Laden’s capture.

Once again, Bush aligns himself with losers. This time a PR flunky.

1. Perfect book-ends.
* was reading "My Pet Goat" on 9-11 and was eating a souffle when 9-11 officially ended.

5. Actually, one definition of souffle is
"to blow or puff-up"

That seems perfect in regards to the Bush presidency.

16. A DUer once described Bush as always walking around like a little "puffed-up rooster"
That description always stuck with me.

So they admit, then, that Bush can't even do something as simple as discuss where he was when he heard about OBL's death (not capture) without wearing a PR person's leash. That explains the whole sitting-on-his-ass-while-the-towers-burned "My Pet Goat" CF, anyway.

9. Ironic really...
since moron* was known as the "texas souffle" when he* was "helping" out in that Alabama campaign when he should have been doing his service as a air national guardman.

How well did he serve?
http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/02/16/timep.bush.tm/index.html

Bush said he reported for duty in Alabama, but even with the new documents, the evidence is thin. TIME looks at four key questions

<snip>

Bush, then 26, would often turn up at campaign headquarters in Montgomery around lunchtime, recount his late-night exploits and brag about his political connections, according to a Blount campaign worker.

All that made him slow to win over the Alabama crowd, who began to complain that Bush was letting things slide.

<snip>

Archibald, now a trial attorney in North Carolina, remembers that a group of older Alabama socialites, who were volunteering their time, gave Bush a nickname because they thought he "looked good on the outside but was full of hot air." They called him the Texas Soufflé.

12. "Real men" aren't Master Chefs, either, I guess.
So much for Jamie Oliver, Bobby Flay, Emeril Lagasse, Anthony Bourdain, Jacques Pépin, among many others.

19. True that.
I don't think I'd care to take on Masaharu Morimoto in any challenge involving edged weapons. The man's knife technique is, shall we say, pretty impressive.

14. LOL, HAHAHA, OMG Could this get any funnier? Who cares what the prick was eating. There
are over 4000 dead GIs dead in Iraq because he wanted to get even with SaaaaaDammm. It's to bad that he didn't choke. Speaking of class I think Obama showed it by calling him. Of course maybe he was just rubbing it in. But then again he would deserve it.

15. I once read a book about the White House kitchens. H.W. Bush was all about the fancy French food

W would change up the menu depending on who he was entertaining. He'd have BBQ and peanut shells on the floor one day and "cucumber tea sandwiches" and lace doilies the next.

I think the Bushes in general derided the lighter, more American menu served by both Reagan and the Clintons as "Country-club food".

17. Bush stopped ordering quiche
Bush and Cheney are at a restaurant for lunch. The waitress comes over and asks what they will be having. Bush says, "I'll have a quickie." The waitress steps back in disgust and says, "Mr. President, I thought that kind of piggish behavior went out with the last administration!" She storms off and Dubya looks confused. Cheney shakes his head at the president and says, "Boy, it's pronounced QUICHE."

Maybe an espresso with a small slice of Génoise, flavored with some Amaretto syrup and layered with ganache :9

23. Rolls eyes...
"I think the focus should be on how classy GWB acted."

A few commenters after the video were saying the same thing about Bush being classy. What's classy about heehawing during an interview talking about mountain bike riding?

Give me a break!
