The 5/21 loons are out in force today...
Upwards of 50 people leafleting and holding signs (and engaging the crowds on the sidewalks) at Grand Central, and just now a convoy of sound trucks driving up Madison Avenue.

I hope they aren't putting their expenses for all this on a layaway plan...

3. I really feel bad for people like this
the delusional mindset followed by the crushing realization that you fucked it all up so badly is sad.

This same idiotic end-times play has been trotted out by charlatans and wackos for a long time and unfortunately it doesn't look like they'll run out of takers any time soon. I guess the asshole running this little con-game did it once before in the 90's but when nobody floated off to heaven he found a "mistake" in his calculations and reformatted everything to end on May 21. This asshole needs to be sued into the ground IMO.

9. I was accosted on my way to court Tuesday
a whole horde of smiling, folks in their 20s, with small printed matter in hand, asking me if i knew that the world was coming to the end soon, and telling me that they would pray for me. I told them that I did not believe in their make believe god and told them not to waste their time on something so foolish and ridiculous as prayer.

Because the Daley Center is a tad full of people, others heard the exchange, and the reaction was promising. One person winked at me, one gave a thumbs up and another mimic'd applause.
