He's a RINO, according to them (Republican In Name Only). Romney's a RINO, of course. Pawlenty's a RINO. And except for a very vocal minority's opinion, even Paul is a RINO. They're ALL RINO's...

...except for Palin. Think how heartbroken they're gonna be when she ends up not running either. ;)

3. He raised taxes in Arkansas....
I have to say, I loved it when he caught shit for that during the '08 primary debates and said "No bridges collapsed in Arkansas while I was Governor!" The CONservatives got their panties in a wad over that one. LOL

2. Who do you think they'll line up behind,
once they realize their Sarah isn't running?

Newt, I'd bet.

4. I would think Sarah would certainly run if the way is clear - Huckabbe and Trump down - who will be
next clearing the way for her and/or Bachmann to run.

5. She won't run.
She was never going to run.

Sarah is only interested in what's in it for Sarah. She left the governorship to make money from Fox News and the right-wing publishing industry; why would she re-enter the political arena? What she's got now is a better cash cow.

8. She WILL keep the tease running, however, because it keeps her in the spotlight...
...and that's where she makes her money.

I'd be willing to bet that people are going to keep asking her "Are you going to run" right up until the last minute, and then when it's too late, they'll begin the "What about 2016" questions.

:-)

7. Meanwhile, Hugh Hewitt wants Cain "banished from debates"
http://www.hughhewitt.com/blog/g/ca8df70b-a2fb-43ba-84d0-1ad4d11675de

This is why the GOP needs to rethink its debate schedule and why the RNC should take over the operation of the debates and exile Cain, Johnson and Paul as well as every other candidate without a prayer of winning. (Santorum is a long shot, but he has a realistic though small chance of winning the nomination, while the others do not.) The seriousness of the fiscal crisis requires the GOP and its candidates to act seriously, and allowing marginal candidates to eat up time and distract from the enormous problems facing the country is not serious.

Gingrich and Romney sensed this and wisely avoided this event. Governor Pawlenty who needs to build name ID and a donor base probably has no choice but to attend them all.

Cain got some buzz here in Omaha due to his connection to Godfather's Pizza, which started here.

9. But Huckabee was a bona fide Free Republic member!
Really. I monitored freerepublic every day for years. Huckabee was a member. And he played (with his band) for their inaugural balls.

10. Huck is a Huey P Long Populist.
His position on economics is closer to DU members than that of Obama's.

Can there be a worse combination for an elected leader?: Socially conservative and economically liberal.

12. Their pick is an incredible fantasy candidate that doesn't exist.
Edited on Sun May-15-11 03:03 AM by JohnnyRingo
No one capable of getting on the ballot is far enough to the right. It used to be a conservative had to have 3 out of 5 right wing qualities to pass muster and gain support, but the advent of the Tea Party and the imagined power they levy is now demanding 100% compliance. That's the incredible part because a Freeper endorsed candidate could never garner more than 30% of the vote represented by those on the far right, and the party knows it.

The Republican party gave this Frankenstein monster its life's breath, now they have to feed it while it wreaks havoc in the lab.

13. Republicans are so child-like
They glomb onto "saviours" and "heart-throbs", shower them with adulation and CASH, and then get their feelings hurt when these phonies leave them high and dry in exchange for fame & new-found wealth:)
