It is, in its thrust, the music of the Civil Rights Movement of the early and middle 1960s.
It is, at its essence, a serious historical work, documenting these historic times.
You'll have a glimpse into the very definition of the word "brave" when you consider the determination of the people who went into the streets, who took to the roads, who rode the buses, who stood before the dogs, the armed and armored police, the fire hoses. The word "hater" that is so much in vogue these days fighting silly verbal squabbles will also see its definition in the fates of the young people who left northern college campuses to drive south with the intent of making a difference.
The film is available streaming on Netflix. It is amazing to me to see the young people who were followers of Dr. King now old men and women themselves. Half a century, now. Half a century that so many of these brave people gave their lives for a cause.
Bravery.
