A revolution? Not as long as there's soma
soma in the form of TV and Facebook and endless computer gaming and cheap junk food and gadgets. As long as the majority is consumed with this stuff, there won't be a revolution in any way shape or form.

4. I was telling my kids about Brave New World last week
'And what do you think Soma is?' I asked.
'TV' my daughter replied. 'My opinion also' I answered.

5. That's what they're counting on.
I get a real kick out of everyone holding their breath while anxiously awaiting just what fresh Hell cutie-sickboy Stevie Jobs is going to shove down our collective throats.

Don't even get me started regarding IdiotBook (get a life, folks).

7. Sex n' drugs and rock n' roll are very good indeed, but do not a revolution make
It's not entirely either-or, though, as we came close to a bunch of simultaneous cultural and political revolutions in '68. Huxley had some of it right, so did Orwell, Skinner, even Phillip K. Dick has insight into why the politics of pleasure and psychedelics wasn't going to easily overcome the politics of pain and gain.

11. Sorry in advance, but I think Soma is actual pharmaceuticals
It's shocking how many people are on tranquilizers, pain killers and anti-depressants these days.

They make TeeVee Newz seem realistic and Republicans seem like a smart vote.
