Anybody know what is happening with the Cuban Five - Rene Gonzalez,
Antonio Guerrero, Gerardo Hernadez, Fernando Gonzalez & Ramon Labanino?

Are they still imprisioned in the US? Seems as though they have been forgotten!

1. Yup, still imprisoned.
I think I just read an article from the commies today... as I recall it said that a judge had recently ruled against any hardship waivers... but I can't remember the details precisely. They're definitely still imprisoned though...

2. They were not even guilty but the bullies framed them. When will America
come clean? No matter whom you all elect, it is the same shit and our PM cannot wait to join in!

Who crowned these people?

3. Well... they were 'guilty' of trying to protect Cubans from US sponsored terrorism.
Which is apparently an imprisonable offense here in the States. ;)

I'm not even sure what they were officially charged with... but they're really just another example, like Saddam Hussein and Manuel Noriega, that the US likes to make an example out of those who would oppose its interests (and agents of same, as in agents of Castro).

The comedy of it lies in the contortions required to create a narrative consistent with the PR branding the US created for itself in WWII, 'Force of Freedom', etc. (an ironic PR branding made possible by FDR, which currently seems to the the only legacy of FDR which the current crop of neo-liberals are still willing to embrace... and bastardize the life out of)... When the branding tried to stretch itself to encompass "freedom fries"... well, let's just say it doesn't seem like too many here in the States recognized the full scope of the irony. On the other hand, when it tries to stretch to encompass renditions, torture, and extra-judicial assassinations... well, the humor is a bit darker...
