the texas taliban strikes again
texas has a a very successful womans health plan called the medicare womans health care program. it provides contraceptive care and disease screening to 125,000 low income women.
the Texas GOP,in their anti planned parenthood mood will only renew it if planned parenthood is banned from receiving the money. in addition in PP were to sue to get the ban overturned the program would be immediatly terminated.

In addition to contraceptive care, participants get screening for cancer, diabetes, hypertension, anemia, and sexually transmitted diseases . the program saves the state $21.4 million a year be reducing medicare financed births.

without the program there will be more unwanted pregnancies and therefore more abortions in texas

so i guess the texas GOP supports more abortions

1. And more women will be subject to the real threat of death.
Hypertension, diabetes, cancer, not to mention (ironically) the threat of dying during childbirth.

I don't understand why there isn't a louder national cry against this attack on women.

3. Why
Because the politicians on both sides don't want to piss off the American Taliban, that's why!

How many people in the Bible Belt as it's called, vote for a candidate based on their religious beliefs, no matter how mysoginistic or fanatical they might be?

It strikes me funny that a supposed "loving God" can strike fear into the hearts of so many sheep!

It's love all right, the kind that someone who's a victim of abuse has for their abuser!!!

4. Where is the groundswell of opposition?
Where is NARAL?
Where is NOW?
Where are the other groups to rally behind PP?

5. We're here... we just get drowned out by the "Right -Wing Xtians"
They OWN the media in Texas. reality.
We are active in the community.
Most logical Texans favor this legislation. We are simply outnumbered in the legislature.
(I am a member of PP,NARAL, and NOW BTW)

6. Then all of us should converge upon Texas to change the laws.
The national focus should be one state at a time.

2. The "Pro-life" group in Texas is anything but.
Fortunately, you can still buy wire hangers here.
Texas is rapidly becoming a third-world country.
Sigh.
