1. there must be some kind of limit on those waivers
otherwise it's not much of a law. What about when a Republican becomes president. They can just give waivers to everyone?

give us little in return.

3. It gives the Right way too much arsenal to bring down HCR. Are these hardship applications?

5. Really? This was predicted by myself and others PRIOR to the final vote on HCR
Edited on Tue May-17-11 09:18 PM by Vinnie From Indy
I will repeat again that the health insurance companies did NOT go into the HCR battle unprepared. The whole stinking, rotten deal brokered with the Obama people by Big Insurance was that there would be a big show about how great the new provisions of the HCR bill like the pre-existing condition issue would be and then a bill would be passed with great fanfare. The dirty little secret that is manifesting itself now is that these companies worked out dozens of strategies and tactics to go around, under, through or over any provision that would actually restrain their ability to make oceans of money. In short, Big Insurance NEVER intended to play ball. They have no intention of honoring the spirit or the letter of ANY provision of HCR they do not like. Clearly, one of their strategies was to focus tremendous lobbying efforts on state governments to nullify or amend with waivers aspects of the HCr they do not like.

The HCR was merely the latest con job of our acquired government. There are no surprises here! I wonder where is the "Amen Choir" in regard to to our dicussions about this very thing during the run up to the HCR vote. Many here predicted exactly this kind of thing would happen and we were reviled, insulted and mocked. Not so funny now is it?
