16. Not to a venue that doesn't exist.
Edited on Tue Jan-04-11 11:54 AM by msanthrope
There's no 'court' in Belmarsh prison. (well, there's a magistrate.) There is a court near Belmarsh, called Woolwich, which does high-profile cases that require security.

17. Thanks for kicking the thread.
It looks like this isn't a change a venue. There's an extradition hearing scheduled there that day which was out in the press a few weeks ago.

"It's undersood that an extradition hearing of Assange's case will take place at Belmarsh Magistrates' Court on 11 January."

6. I did some other reading on Belmarsh Prison as well,
and it's maximum security, 23-hour lockdown, for high-risk offenders only.

And this for a guy who had sex without a condom - maybe.

The world is becoming even scarier.

8. This is about a prison, not Assange's Swedish case
What ridiculous grasping at straws.

There is no Belmarsh court nor is it a "terrorism" court nor is Assange going to a British court as a terrorism suspect.

9. The link doesn't mention either Wikileaks or Assange.
So why are you trying to whip up hysteria here?

11. What hysteria?
Edited on Tue Jan-04-11 04:25 AM by Hissyspit
And there are no claims anywhere that the link mentions Wikileaks or Assange.

There are perfectly good reasons to be skeptical of governments and their justice systems. At any rate, I merely passed on to everyone here what WikiLeaks has communicated through its Twitter Feed. Everyone can do research and draw their own conclusions.

18. the "research" you provided is about Belmarsh prison
Having nothing to do with Wikileaks, Assange or the Swedish case. And you believe that tacking on this "research" isn't an attempt to whip up hysteria? I notice nowhere in your OP does it say anything about the fact that there is no Belmarsh court, there is no "terrorism" court at all nor is Britain accusing Assange of terrorism which would certainly be worthwhile research concerning the lying twitter feed. So, just how is that this was an attempt to allow people to draw their own conclusions? If that was the case you would have just pointed to the twitter feed and that's it. Instead you added "research" that attempted to perpetuate the lying twitter feed and omitted that research that shows it for the lie it is.

It's a GIVEN that any links provided pertain to the issue of the OP, so why are you claiming that it isn't your fault that the "research" link you provided has NOTHING to do with Wikileaks or Assange???

I think you expect too much from the typical DU/Assange thread....

20. If still within the edit period, you really should change that headline.
The security court is in Woolwich. Are you suggesting that Assange would be imprisoned at Belmarsh during trial or if convicted?
