Rogue tweet by Secret Service!...

Oh, the dangers of social media! Those instant, regrettable outbursts of unvarnished truth and scantily clad photos. Today's victim: the Secret Service!

Still newish to the whole social media thing, the service this afternoon tweeted the following:

"Had to monitor Fox for a story. Can't. Deal. With. The. Blathering."

How electrifying! A rare, unschooled moment of total candor and unintended hilarity from the ruthlessly professional, unfailingly serious, heavily armed and earnestly professional Secret Service.

The tweet was promptly deleted but Gawker and others were fast with the screen grab. Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan was equally swift on the draw with an official statement:
