What happened to the 1000 years of peace?
I thought when Jesus returned, there would be a thousand years of peace on Earth? Isn't that in the Bible?

So why would Jesus return to destroy the world and rapture all the believers and break the prophecy?

Perhaps Biblical scholars can explain this?

5. Ask the media, since they are the ones making this an issue.
If it weren't for them, no one would know about a few wacko's.

6. Well here's a brief timeline as I understand it
And I'm no Bible scholar but I have read it.

First comes the second coming. Then the resurrection of the righteous. Then the wicked are slain. THEN satan is bound for 1000 years and the earth is made new. I think that's about it. I forget what happens after that. Something like satan is loosed again for a little season then the return of peace and heaven in the sky and on earth, IIRC.

You can look it up with the proper Bible search term and Google.

7. some arcane distinction between pre- and post-millenarianism
I used to remember it when in grad school in religious studies.

Their silly little charts say so much about the disconnect between their professed spirituality and the deadened feeling one gets when they talk.

Faith to them is discursive and conceptual. It comes from an ego formation and not an openness to something greater than themselves (aka humility), which is why it feels so hollow to observers, and why they just go off on creating diagrams and timelines and silly edifices and theories and actually think they're onto something when they're simply manufacturing air.

Elizabeth I said something about this all being about building sandcastles to reach the heavens and speaking in the late 1500s she couldn't have been more correct.

I just can't believe their latest idiot (GB) gets air time for his grade school sketches.
