Tea Party Rally Fizzles in South Carolina
Though as many as 2,000 people were expected at a Tea Party rally in South Carolina, just 30 showed up (looks like only 2 to me, lol) after Donald Trump cancelled his appearance with Gov. Nikki Haley (R), according to the Columbia State.

The picture from the rally is priceless.

Oh, the lady bracing the lectern is the Governor, Nikki Haley.

The rest of the crown may be scouring the Capitol Grounds looking for the elusive Porta Potties. That, or hanging at Dunkin' Donuts down the street.

84. sounds unethical, at best
Haley told the meeting she was forming the Governor’s Tea Party Coalition to be run from her office. The group will be made up of volunteers who will work with Haley on issues, advocacy and grass-roots organizing, spokesman Rob Godfrey said.

I would hope that this is as illegal in SC as it sounds. (political organizing within the governor's office)

(Columbia Tea Party chairman Allen) Olson said the legislative losses will motivate Tea Party members, adding they will turn their focus now on a bill to cap punitive damages in lawsuits and other legislative issues.

29. Second time in a month
This comes as the second Tea Party flop in a month, as the Tax Day Rally, starring Tea Party favorite and possible presidential candidate Michele Bachmann, attracted a mere 300 attendees. That’s only one-tenth of the turnout for the same event in 2009.

81. Somebody really needs to do an analysis ...
... of the contributions to the various rallies by outside groups (i.e. Fox News, Americans for Prosperity, etc), looking for a correlation with rally attendance. I'm confident that the Fox-stoked, AFP-driven protests will have a markedly higher participation than any of the true "grassroots" protests. This year's "tax day" protests were a great example, the only protest with any significant attendance was in Wisconsin, where photos captured a podium decorated with an AFP logo.)

Will pacify huge segments of the Tea party.

They have loaded feelings that are invoked just by saying it will happen on some day.

It would be like if someone said to you that the check is in the mail, or that you will be getting a bonus next quarter, or that something will be happening.

Your mind moves from the work of the now, to that event in thought.

It is to take people out of the Now. and make them ineffectual. Really basic psyops. Been going on since money paid to build centers to teach that stuff a few decades ago.

The way to defeat that delusion is to know until something occurs, you live in the state of Now, and when it occurs, then you will live in that state. And not chasing the carrot.

It is a complex mind version of Charlie Brown, Lucy, and the football.

unless Fox or CNN tell them, this is the only place that I have ever lived that has a Church on every corner, after living here I can understand why, because all the sinners live in the county that I live in. I once looked at a box of stainless steel screws at a store here and the price was $49.00 because my name was in their files I got the screws for $19.00. I have never gone into this business since this happened. How can these people sleep at night when their stealing from everyone.

I expect it's more a result of Fox News and Americans for Prosperity, having achieved extension of the Bush tax cuts and gaining control of the House, having no immediate need for mob action, and refraining from funding and stoking any protests.

58. The best thing that happened was.
Three minutes in to the speech. The old man and woman got up. Folded up their chairs and walked out.

Two minutes after that. George Washington followed them.

Shortly after that. They pulled the plug on the microphone and turned out the lights.

A lonely voice calling out from the darkness.

You know they have just got to be tea baggers when some thing like this happens.

65. I would love to have spoken to the two people sitting there
Only because I would be curious if their reasoning for being there would have been the same as mine...
Having seen no one turn out, it would have been fun to watch the train wreck

67. They're not exactly standing up and cheering are they?
Those two need to attend a Democratic Townhall meeting to get their blood pumping again.

70. Why?
Would be an interesting question.

I think the Tea Party may not be happy with the Republicans?

This reminds me of the freeper rally from some years ago (surely some DU member still has that photo).

How shallow Tea Partiers are.

73. Where's the other 28? What's with this "30" estimate?
Looks like two grumpy people showed up. Where's the other 28? The "tea party" is a creation of the Kochs and a media who loves them.

We got almost no coverage of our marches against war in DC in 2002-03, with 100,000+.

In many ways, I too despise the media.

80. 30 people attended?
Obviously not all of the "30" baggers arrived or departed at the same time.

Unless the "crowd" count was based upon who was there per half-hour and then all of the half-hours were added together?
