Firefighters rescue fawn stuck in rocks, reunited with mom
This is a heartwarming story...

http://www.katu.com/news/local/122393264.html

HOCKINSON, Wash. - Some heavy equipment typically used to rescue people from car wrecks helped save a tiny fawn trapped under heavy rocks.

Wednesday morning Ed Bettencourt and his wife woke up early to find a deer pacing around their backyard and acting strangely.

1. I need a dose of sweet news daily. Today, I got "A hotdog for your
thoughts" and a precious fawn rescue. Double good day.

4. Thanks for posting. I'd like to hug all the beings involved!
It just galls me that some people can be so incredibly kind and others wouldn't hesitate to put both of those deer in their rifle sights.

5. No hunter would shoot those deer.
That is not hunting. Hunters respect the animal they are hunting, especially animals that challenge their hunting skills.

7. Are you serious??????
The vast majority of hunters I know will kill any deer that's big enough to kill. The easier the better.

Cripes, I know hunters who bag deer from their living room windows.

The only people I know who are "challenge" hunters have moved well beyond killing Eastern Whitetails and now seek bear, coyotes or overseas big game trophy animals.

:eyes:

13. Yeah, I am serious.
Every hunter I know but one (who has gone overseas for the big trophies) is responsible. They don't kill just for killing sake. They eat what they kill. They do it legally and fair. They are careful to make clean kills and will spend hours tracking a deer they wound, even if it means returning the next day to look for it. And when they want a greater challenge they take up bow hunting and then turkey hunting with a bow.

It must be really different where you are. I see why you have your opinion and apologize for those people who are abusing their hunting responsibilities.

17. I was a copy editor for 35 hunting and fishing magazines
all over the U.S. Believe me, most hunting is for trophies and the thrill of the kill. Yes, some do track and hunt down the deer they wound, but that is because it is a trophy buck with a big rack of 10 or more points. They may eat what they kill, but they are just after a trophy for their walls.

6. Great story, I have a handful of deer that will come up to me in the yard...
the doe had twins (bucks) a few years back and they always come for a visit. They were born behind my garage. They never touch my garden, but will drink my fountains dry.
