CODEPINK activist Rae Abileah was arrested at the George Washington University Hospital in Washington D.C. after heckling Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to the anti-war group.

The 28-year-old Jewish American woman was allegedly tackled by members of the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) during Netanyahu's speech to Congress after she yelled, "stop Israeli war crimes."

2. here's what galls me the most:
"You know I take it as a badge of honor, and so should you, that in our free societies that you can have protest," Netanyahu said after being interrupted by Abileah. "You can't have these protest in the farcical parliaments in Tehran or in Tripoli. This is real democracy."

So getting arrested and beaten up by the cops for daring to protest the asshole Netanyahu is a "Real democracy".

Right wingers are full of vile lying shit whatever country they come from.

4. According to the story, it wasn't the cops who beat her
It was members of AIPAC:

The 28-year-old Jewish American woman was allegedly tackled by members of the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) during Netanyahu's speech to Congress after she yelled, "stop Israeli war crimes."

If that is true, I hope they were arrested also. And I hope she sues them.

No one does more harm to Israel than people like Netanyahu. I guess he's trying to bully Obama into submission by going to Congress while Obama is out of the country.

9. It doesn't say she is claiming they beat her. The story says
she was beaten by members of AIPAC. Not that she said it.

16.  the claim that she was beaten by members of AIPAC comes
from CodePink.

The protester who heckled Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu during his speech to a joint session of the US Congress was arrested by police for "disrupting Congress," a press release from the group Move Over AIPAC said.

Rae Abileah was taken to the hospital by Capital Police after reportedly being "assaulted and tackled" in the House Gallery by persons described by CODEPINK as "AIPAC members."

Abileah, a member of CODEPINK from California, is Jewish and of Israeli descent, according to a press release.

So how do they know these were AIPAC members? Did they announce it as they beat her? and where were the cops? Not much info to go on.

7. Imagine if Obama -- or any American president -- went to a foreign country &
underhandedly pushed that country's legislators into a direction that goes against their leader's wishes. That's very telling of Netanyahu's sense of integrity.

11. If a head of another state is in disagreement with the president
while he is here, it doesn't look good for him/her to make his case to Congress while the president is out of the country.

That would be like Obama visiting a head of state in, say, Britain, disagreeing with the PM, then when the PM leaves the country, going to Parliament to make his case.

Americans don't like to see their president being bullied or undermined, regardless of political affiliation.

Netanyahu is a bully, he's not a good advocate for Israel for that reason. I bet his worldwide polls are as low as Cheney's.

17. No, not at all.
Another question this episode raises, how is it that Congress can be so united over an issue that has little to do with the American people, but cannot find that kind of agreement on behalf of the people they actually represent?

18. Yes, what you said.
IMO the original post WWII UN resolution on two nations and Jerusalem an international city seems most fair.

The sordid religious and political extremists that allow even more sordid right-wing violence and terrorism are in the way of most people that want peace and security and a better future..

To teach a child hate, one needs violence, hopelessness, religion, and/or toxic politics.

I do not think Israel nor any other nation in the middle east needs weapon nor energy by any known workable use of fission or fusion.

13. Agree, they can censor the US media, but that doesn't mean
we cannot read about the demeaning and brutal treatment of the Palestinian people by the Israelis, just going about their daily business. It is despicable. He should not utter the word 'democracy'.
