Take child abuse seriously and license clowns, activist urges

Linda Beaudoin was outside the Napanee courthouse the day Randy Miller pleaded guilty to child pornography charges in April.

The Brampton woman has been there for all his court appearances and will also be there when Miller is sentenced next week.

Her goal is to bring attention to child abuse, said Beaudoin, adding it's especially important in cases where children's entertainers such as clowns or magicians are involved.

Miller was a well-known children's entertainer — a clown — for more than 20 years and worked at private parties, fairs and festivals.

In Australia they want to license smokers, and now people want to license clowns...what's next??

Maybe worthy of new regulations . . . then again, maybe not.

Children must be safe

but I doubt this approach would actually help. Most abusers are known to the person they abuse, and most do not have any kind of criminal record because so few cases of sexual abuse and sexual assault are actually reported.

Has anyone heard of Generation FIVE? Their aim is to end child sexual abuse within five generations, and I'm surprised nobody has talked about them yet. Throwing people in jail, while sometimes necessary in the system we live in today, can only do so much. http://www.generationfive.org/

What is with five generations ?
It starts today and every day

Going to watch a 4 year old in a two piece suite made up like a 30 year old should be a red flag right there...

My friend had a friend that had referred a clown It was a disaster.
This clown had no knowledge of what to do Later they noticed things missing
Now I agree 100% on licensing with back ground checks How do we know where those missing kids went ? I read some where clown used it to do bad things later
This lady is doing all this because she is concerned about children

Unfortunate truth is Child abuse happens everywhere in all different situations

Where did you get your facts from?

if they do, maybe they should stop.

Excuse me Would anyone want a convicted robber in their house ?
What about a clown using the ruse at a later time and place ?
Open your mind up to the possibilities They are endless
the probability for missing kids is very real
I know children are too precious to not do everything to protect them

so terrified of pervs.

This is not only about parent supervision this is about having people that are safe to be in your home as well
Things could happen afterward Does not mean it could happen at the time of event it could be at a later date
Who knows all the possibilities ?
I wonder if the missing kids have any connection with clowns or other characters ?
