Looking for a Civil Rights era photo of cop about to club a black kid for holding American flag
This photo is the closest I could find:

But I remember seeing one in a book years ago of a kid sitting on a curb holding a little American flag like that unaware that a cop is standing behind him, just about to club him.

I want to find it because I sometimes give my English composition students an assignment based on the Confederate flag controversy, and one of the things I read about it was during the Civil Rights era, black people waving an American flag in the South was actually considered a sign of rebellion (and conversely, whites flying the Confederate flag was showing they liked the Jim Crow status quo).

The other think I like about this photo besides clarifying the flag flap is that the photo undermines the conservative spin on the Civil Rights movement as somehow subversive and anti-American, when in reality it was a demand to make our reality match our rhetoric of democracy and equality before the law. These images break that propaganda the way the film SIR NO SIR did for the Vietnam War protesters--they weren't hippies spitting on veterans, they WERE veterans (and active duty troops).

Does anyone know the photo I'm talking about and know where I can find it online or a hard copy book it appears in?
