4. What are some of the things Morning Joe has said???
What about Rush with "Barack the Magic Negro"?? Are they kidding? OK, it was inappropriate, but to take him off the air by suspending him? That is BS.

The Racebaiting, the mysogyny, but only Dems get suspended.

5. What he did was bad! When do Repugs who say vile things
about Democratic women get suspended? Keith Olbermann and Ed Schultz suspended, Right Wing not so much.

9. It's OK to call Chelsea Clinton, about 12 at the time, a dog
Rush Limbaugh wasn't taken off any airwaves. I can't count the racist and sexist things Repubs have said, no repercussions to them.

6. It was, after all, a very unkind thing that he said.
Not to Laura Ingraham, but rather to members of that group to which he compared her.

:P

10. That's quite the mea culpa.
Not one of those non-apology apologies ("I'm sorry if anyone was offended"). The word "slut" really was inappropriate (as awful as Laura Ingraham is); sometimes Ed does go off the rails a bit. But at least he's apologizing, for real, instead of weaseling.

12. Pullease! Give me a freakin' break.
It's okay when Rush, or Hannity, or O'Reilly, or the NY Post, say that kind of crap about people on the left, but it's not okay. Well, I guess now that Comcast owns MSNBC, or maybe Ed wants a show on Current?

He called Laura Ingraham a slut
I just looked it up myself because I wasn't aware of it until now. At least he's being stand up about it.

17. Well, he was big enough to apologize.
I hope he doesn't leave permanently. However, although no woman including Laura Ingraham deserves to be called a slut, she isn't so sacrosanct that she shouldn't be called a lying tool for the right wing and Heritage Foundation shill and mouthpiece. I think I will email M$NBComcast and tell them that.

19. I hope he comes back some time in the future. I must say, his
appology sounded like the most sincerre I've ever heard. It is quite amazing how the RWers seem to get away with saying even worse things about Dems than what Ed said and there's no appology, no reprimand, no nothing! I don't WANT to be like them, but I'm getting pretty tired of the hammer only hitting one side too!

21. I have no idea what he said, but MSNBC put out this statement saying Ed would be gone for 1 week
without pay:

25 May 2011 5:51 PM
STATEMENT FROM MSNBC REGARDING ED SCHULTZ

STATEMENT FROM MSNBC REGARDING ED SCHULTZ:

MSNBC management met with Ed Schultz this afternoon and accepted his offer to take one week of unpaid leave for the remarks he made yesterday on his radio program. Ed will address these remarks on his show tonight, and immediately following begin his leave. Remarks of this nature are unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

24. He should have called her a "right-wing asshole"
because that's what Laura Ingraham is.

It was a mistake for Schultz to use the word "slut," even though I doubt he meant it in a misogynistic way (just as those who call right-wing shills "whores" apply the term to male and female toadies alike).

Now let's watch as all the right-wing blowhards suddenly become feminists for a week and jump to her defense.
