Did the word "Slut" break the camel's back, after Ed Schultz threatened to burn down MSNBC studio's?

I wish he hadn't apologize..tired of Dems being held to a higher standard..sometimes if it walks like a duck, you should call it a duck...

but just wonder if ComCa$tM$NBC were just looking for an easy out on Ed?..
Anyone know what his ratings were with his new 10pm timeslot?

1. Ed Schultz is a former repuke (who only "changed" for ratings) who showed his true colors

The faster MSNBC replaces him, the better.

2. according to wikipedia:
In the late 1990s, Schultz claims a series of events changed his political views from the far right to the far left. One event was his mother's battle with Alzheimer's Disease which began a long, slow decline of her mental health. Schultz found it frustrating trying to get her the services that she needed. Another was that he met a psychiatric nurse named Wendy who ran a homeless shelter in Fargo.<16> He attributed much of his political change to her, and although he had criticized the homeless on his show, he said in his book that she helped to humanize them. To his surprise, he found that some of the people he had insulted were veterans, and many were unable to get the psychiatric or medical services that might help them. He says that was the moment he began to look at poverty differently.<17>
He became a Democrat in 2000 marking the formal turn in his politics from conservative to liberal. He went out to do radio promotions in rural North Dakota, and told reporters about how he met farmers who were suffering and hard-working people who were going hungry, even though Republicans said the economy was doing fine. (Vowell 2004) He began to hold benefits to raise money for people in the heartland who were going through tough times.<18> In addition, he began questioning some of the assertions of George W. Bush; although he supported several Republican candidates in the 2000 election, he was becoming critical of other Republicans. Schultz considered running for the Democratic-NPL party nomination for governor against incumbent Republican John Hoeven in 2004, but decided to continue his career in radio.

3. Good article here on his "change"

You can never truly take the "puke" out of a repuke. He proved that today.

10. A lot of DU'ers are former 'pukes
A true ratings whore would have stuck with RW radio, where the big money is.

13. +100
Ed is one of the best liberal voices out there.

And Repukes say worse things than what Ed said with far less justification on an hourly basis.

9. MSNBC's been on Ed's ass for ages now
The suits at MSNBC have literally made Ed cry after he was called up on the carpet...coincidentally, right around the time Comcast was about to close the deal with GE.

They forced Ed to stop "Psycho Talk"--ZOMG, we might offend the widdle Wepubwicans!

Now Keith Olbermann's gone, pressure's mounting on Ed, and before you know it, the only leftie voices we'll have are boring, slow-talking Lawrence O'Donnell, and sickly-cutesy Rachel Maddow. Sort of like fighting an invading horde with a turtle and Hello Kitty.

But this is just what Comcast wants.

11. the apology showed class and decency

I'd hate for us to be pricks like Limbaugh. He's a disgusting person who will never apologize until Satan comes to get him. then he'll be pissing in his diapers and groveling for forgiveness.

15. Dems are held to a higher standard because their audience has higher standards.
Republican pundits can get away with sexist/racist comments because their audience is predominantly sexist and racist.

Just because they do it doesn't mean I'm ok with progressives doing it. We are better then they are which is starting to show as Fox News is losing ratings and sponsers while the progressive shows on MSNBC are gaining.
