Rep. Allen West (R-Crazytown): Obama has "conscious, nefarious, and malicious intent" re: Israel

Yes, everyone's favorite war criminal turned Congressman, Allen West, is at it again.

In his most recent newsletter, West accused President Obama of having a "conscious, nefarious, and malicious intent" as it relates to the Israeli-Palestian conflict.

Now, let's give the man the benefit of the doubt. He's not that bright with words. I mean, we are talking about a guy who apparently admitted he doesn't know the difference between the words "censor" and "censure":

So maybe instead of insinuating that the President actually wants to see a foreign country destroyed, which is what one would expect if one uses the term "malicious", maybe what West meant to say is that he thought the President was being naive and being all too pie-in-the-sky, Kumbaya singing, can't we all get along, peacenik in wanting to (gasp!) see some sort of peaceful resolution in the Israeli-Palestian conflict.

I mean, I'm sure if you provide the entire quote for West, you'll certainly find that what West meant to say was "naive", which as much as I would disagree with that assessment, at least it isn't any sort of wildly and vile defamation of the Commander in Chief. So let's see the entire quote:

"In reviewing history, I would say Sir Neville Chamberlain was naive in his negotiations with German Chancellor Adolph Hitler. However, when one examines the current state of affairs in the Middle East, including the Fatah-Hamas reconciliation pact, increase of rocket/mortar attacks from Gaza, the definitive Hamas Charter statement vowing the destruction of Israel, and the Hamas condemnation of America for killing Osama bin Laden… I cannot attribute this incompetent statement to naïveté, but rather to conscious, nefarious, and malicious intent."

Okay. So....yeah. Definitely didn't mean naive. Kudos on meeting Godwin's Law, though. Really adds to your persuasive, rhetorical skills.

So Congressman West says that the President has a malicious intent when it comes to foriegn policy. Funny thing about Congressman West. Had he been an active member of the United States military, which Congressman West loves to pretend he still is (as opposed to a guy who was forced to resign in disgrace after shooting off a gun next to the head of an unarmed Iraqi detainee just so he can get a false confession from him), I do believe such language would constitute gross insubordination towards your Commander in Chief and might land you a place in Fort Leavenworth. Which frankly, I believe is a much more fitting setting for where you really ought to be (as opposed to, say, Capitol Hill.)

But wait, there's more. West goes on and says,:

"The statement President Obama made, one without sharing with Prime Minister Netanyahu, is one of the most insidious and heinous policy statements ever made by any United States President, and completely unacceptable. I will not sit back idly and watch us saunter down the road to perdition!"

Clearly, West is a big fan of Tom Hanks-Paul Newman movies, but the more important thing is that no president has never said anything of that sort. Never. Notta. No way. No how. Nothing anything that resembles anything like this:

"As part of a final peace settlement, Israel must have secure and recognized borders, which should emerge from negotiations between the parties in accordance with UNSC Resolutions 242 and 338."

Those henious, nefarious and malcious words were of course uttered by the 44th President of the United States, George W. Obama.


But perhaps there is room for redemption for the good Congressman. And indeed, later in that very same newsletter, Congressman West has some very glowing words of praise for the nation's leader. Of course, the problem is, that nation is Israel, and that leader is Benjamin Netanayhu:

"I look forward to attending the AIPAC evening dinner tonight and hopefully will get a moment to speak with Prime Minister Netanyahu and let him know I have his back. As well, I shall enthusiastically applaud Prime Minister Netanyahu when he addresses a Joint Session of Congress this coming Wednesday… he is a Brother Warrior!"

Congressman West, I know there are some of the teabag variety who would love if you were to run for President. However--and no offense to be taken here--I just don't see your heart in it. Clearly you have zero respect for the office of the Commander in Chief, and zero respect for even the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

So let's just ditch the whole run for President thing. I say screw it, just ditch the whole American politics thing. Move to Israel, join the Likud party with your Brother Warrior Netanyahu, and run for Knesset.

Wait, actually, don't. I'm sure the millions of decent Israelis don't want you to make as much of a mockery out of their legislature as you've made out of ours.
