or even worse -- get rid of it? Replacing
rights with privileges? (hint: rights cannot
be revoked... but privileges CAN)

5. You might want to review the Constitution and note...
the provisions for amending it, let alone "abolishing" it.

It's also simply not true that the GOP doesn't want to preserve the Constitution, despite the fact they are largely at odds with us as to how it is interpreted.

10. If by "interpreted" you mean "ignore the Bill of Rights."

6. Bush & Cheney
got around it quite nicely for 8 years without officially doing away with it.

7. It depends on the changes.
It could stand a few updates.

A few off the top of my head:
  • Replace the electoral college with a popular vote.
  • Correction of the Citizens United decision.
  • Correction of the Kelo v. City of New London decision.
  • Protect women's healthcare rights.
  • Some clarification and strengthening of the separation of church and state.
  • Labor rights.
  • Verifiable elections.

8. Not to mention a complete and total rework of the entire Article system...
...and the manner in which Law is handled, beginning with an 'intent' statement to be included in every new law.

Some corporate inclusions would likely be necessary as well.

It was a Release Candidate for Democratic Republic 1.0. Time to release the finished product, minus the bugs.

9. I mentioned verifiable elections.
I should have gone further. There should be an explicit federal right to vote.

11. They won't change the Constitution. They'll change the judges who will
interpret the Constitution the way they tell them to.
