It is a great program!

Even tho they did not get officially deployed, a group of guys are going to Joplin to help. It is now a search and recovery not a search and rescue but the help is needed.

My DH and brother and nephew are going this afternoon to help today and tomorrow to offer any services needed. The Avalanche is loaded with water and sandwiches enough to feed hundreds and they are ready to do what is needed.

This is the way America takes care of its own. There is much to be done, but Joplin will come back stronger than ever.

1. How wonderful. They will be blessed for their efforts with the gratitude of others.
I wish I was younger. I'd be helping, as well.

8. I'd love to, but I'm in a different state and have a broken hand.
I donated, instead.

3. I think it is a little unfair to frame this as a partisan issue.
As far as I know, CERT has volunteers of all types. At times like these, political differences tend to matter less, at least for a while. After all, the tornadoes didn't ask about party affiliation before destroying someone's home. However, I would find it interesting if, after this is all over, someone does a study on which side (progressive or conservative) donates more time and money to the cause.

in the open for all to see because President Obama was having tea with the Queen, and don't think the Pubs won't make that point.

7. From what I've seen and heard, churches from the local and surrounding areas have
done more than anyone else to help out.
