Wheb does the Senate consider rules changes?
Watching CSPAN2 and seeing the gnashing of teeth over the possible change to filibuster rules but so far no discussion of the rules changes.

1. They're apparently planning to push the discussion/vote back.

2. The 1st day. But Reid can extend the "1st day" up to two weeks

Sounds like Senate Dems are still hashing out the details of reform.

Two things I have heard

- no secret holds
- if you want to filibuster, you actually have to get your LAZY FAT REPUBLICAN ASS into the Senate Chamber and defend yourself (like in the Olden Mr Smith Goes To Washington Days). None of these painless procedural bullshit they have been relying on.

We saw how work adverse the Republicans were during lame duck, so much whining and crying about having to be there, so upset that their VaCay was delayed.

4. Ok where is Harry Reid gonna get 67 votes
to change the rules ???

The Senate has a process in place for amending rules; this process requires a two-thirds <67> vote.

From wiki ...

5. I don't think they needs 2/3rd to change the rules?
I think a simple majority is all that is needed. Too bad they didn't have the foresight to do this 2 years ago.

8. here is the link

quote
Other Procedures of Delay
The filibuster is only one way that Senators can block a vote. For example, the party in power can bottle up a bill or nomination in Committee, thus keeping it from coming to the floor for a vote.

The Senate has a process in place for amending rules; this process requires a two-thirds <67> vote.

9. Apparently in the first session only a majority vote is necessary.
