So sick of hearing "Obamacare" this week...
I only find comfort knowing that once Americans begin finding benefit in the law, I can watch how quickly the republicans divorce themselves from that moniker.

How about if we start refering to Medicare benefits as "LyndonCare", or if seniors eagerly awaited what we can call their monthly "FDR Checks"? Why don't we propose to rename Johnson's prize piece "The Democratic Civil Rights Ammendment"?

Republicans who use the term "Obamacare" could just replace their coveted flag pins with a small silver crescent wrench to display what corporate tools they are.

1. If/when benefits kick in "ObamaCare" should be a selling point to re-election

13. which is way different than wanting it to be "repealed"
Yet the Republicans claim they have a "Mandate" to repeal this.

8. Republican talking point!
I was watching some show, maybe tweety, and he accused his republikan guest of wanting to kill "health care".
The guest shot back the it was "Obama Care" not realizing calling it such does not change the fact that the repugs want to give all our health care over to the private health industry.
Democrats need to strike back and reclaim the language of the debate.
The repugs are attempting to destroy health care, period.

11. True... Remember last fall when their meme was "repeal & replace"?
What happened to "replace"?

That part of their campaign battle cry seems to have been ditched now that they're assuming office. That's proof that the Republicans never had a plan other than telling insurance companies to "send me the bill".

9. I still say if they are allowed to call it "Obamacare" we should use the "Bush Recession"
to describe our economic troubles of the past years.

I thought about this exactly this morning after having some retired Republican friends refer to it as "Obamacare" and they are not using that term with respect although they are very good at parroting the Republican talking points. I thought, "then why don't you call it FDR Security or DemocratCare?"

"Obamacare" might have eventually become a term of pride for Democrats, but I'm afraid most of the good in it will be gutted (not that many here at DU believe there was a lot of good in it).

17. Next time you hear a repub deride "socialized medicine"....
Mention how much the Canadians love their governemnt supplied health care... and wait for it.

Needless to say, they'll parrot the Limbaugh lie that they hate their health care and wish they had our system. That leaves you open to ask why they think insurance companies are illegal in Canada. If anyone in Canada doesn't like their government supplied health care, they are free to contact Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Canada and pay for the coverage these Republicans call "the best health care system in the world". Every major insurance company is well represented in Canada and anxious to collect their loonies if anyone's that stupid.

It's a fact that many Canadian corporations offer their executives first class private care plans that grant extended gold class benefits to lure the brightest and best to the table.
