5. My thought too
If you can't make do on a bathroom per bedroom, or maybe even a couple of extra bedrooms per bathroom, someone is seriously full of shit.

12. actually I can see one extra bathroom per floor where there is no bedroom
so say all bedrooms on 2nd floor while the 1st floor and basement have an extra bathroom each.

3. Honestly, It's juvenile, but I really want to do a flash "point and laugh" at
the open house...

June 5--just have a bunch of ordinary people show up and not tour the house, just stand outside and giggle and point.

4. 6 baths and four bedrooms?
Do they have to take a shit more often than normal people, are they just so unclean that showers need to be attached to every vacant space?

8. One for each bedroom, one in the basement by the laundry, and one off the kitchen or garage.
I'm willing to bet good money that at least two of those baths are in places you wouldn't expect, but which you would find convenient. And I'm willing to bet that at least one of those is a commode and basin only.

I live in a one bedroom apartment with two baths, and one of the baths is like that. It's a shitter, not a bathroom.

9. Depending on where the fifth full bath is, I might be able to see this...
If I had the financial wherewithal to build a home such as this, it would have a full bath in the garage--and it sure as fuck wouldn't have a one-car garage. I like old Volkswagens, enjoy working on them but at the same time am fully aware those things are made out of grease--which gets on you every time you go near one. One does not walk through his million-dollar house when he is coated in grease.

So let's see...half bath on the main floor, bathroom for every bedroom and the bathroom in the garage. Yeah, that works.

10. Why would someone build that house in that neighborhood?
Edited on Sun May-29-11 11:22 PM by Renew Deal
Valley Stream is an OK neighborhood that borders Queens. It is NOT a neighborhood where homes like that are built. Someone will $1 Million bucks can live in a much nicer neighborhood in just as nice of a house nearby. I bet they'll have a hard time selling that paraya for that price in Valley Stream.

BTW, it says taxes are $0, but they are probably around $18K a year for that house.

That house was listed in January for $1.1M. It is new construction that doesn't look completed.

My Nassau Property says it's worth $1,000,020 this year.

http://www.nassaucountyny.gov/mynassauproperty/main.jsp

The previous house or lot was sold for $405,000 in 2006.

10/24/2006 $405,000 12204 0472 NONE

17. My guess....The person is looking to cash out.
Edited on Mon May-30-11 11:17 AM by Renew Deal
They bought the property for $406K 5 years ago. The tax payments on that is probably another $50K. Demolition and new construction is probably 300-400K. They are looking to turn a $200K profit. But I don't think there is a market for million dollar houses in that neighborhood. People are better off spending the same money or less in nearby Garden City, Rockville Centre, and even further away in Syosset, Manhasset, or Port Washington.

Edited on Mon May-30-11 03:07 PM by MilesColtrane
Maybe the builder is assuming the owner would gladly leave a car out front in exchange for more living space inside.

Or, assuming nearby public transportation would be opted for rather than two cars.

28. Looks like some sort of residental "hospital" or institution.
Even with decent landscaping, ten years from now, it would still look like an institution. Or a mad scientist's "home" in a bad 50's "B" movie.

Blerg. Wonder what's in the basement.

The architect and the builder are seriously butt ass stupid.

They built a huge pile of crap AFTER the housing tank. And some butt ass stupid banker actually floated them a construction loan, hence the short sale.

Teh stupid, it burns !!!!
