poor little teabagger.
Some twit with her little "Rand Paul" sticker on her Lexus SUV. I'm on the other side of the pump with my beater trying to make sure I catch the pump by $10 because that's all I have. Next thing I know the woman wants to tell me how bad she has it that the Lexus MUST have premium gas and it's costing her a fortune.

She was what I call "high maintenance". Store bought hair, nails, face, boobs etc. Nothing wrong with it if you've got the money to buy but seriously, why not buy a clue.

I told her I hope things get better for her.

1. Reminds me of that Harry Chapin song, " Taxi"...

.....
And here, she's acting happy,
Inside her handsome home.
And me, I'm flying in my taxi,
Taking tips, and getting stoned,
I go flying so high, when I'm stoned.

Money doesn't buy happiness, but lack of money certainly can make for a lot of misery...;)

3. I'm not envious.
If someone can afford all that more power to um.

I have a roof over my head that leaks and I can't afford to fix it - but I'm not clueless enough to go hang out at the homeless shelter and bitch about my leaky roof.

vehicle.

6. Hmmm. Why is it that when the wealthy suck the proles dry, it isn't class warfare--
Edited on Mon May-30-11 11:04 PM by tblue37
but when the proles dare to complain about being sucked dry (or about the sort of people who live very, very well off the labor of others), all of a sudden it's "Class warfare! How awful!" or "Class envy! How awful!"

7. Hmm... you seem to have foresaken your namesake...
Somehow I don't see Holden Caufield fighting for the status quo and the "right" of the few privileged to demand "more, more, more" at the expensive of the rest. Nope, don't picture Holden Caufield as espousing those kind of views at all...

10. Au Contraire
Holden was rich (his parents were anyway) and he was socio-economically well above most everyone he met after leaving school and he complained constantly when thing weren't as he perceived them to be.

your brain.

Nice try though. Enjoy your stay.

24. it was pretty obvious
Sometimes a job with true artistry looks natural but most people can usually tell when they things are J cups that defy gravity on a 40 something yr old 5'9 or 10" woman who maybe weighs 110 pounds. No idea what a boob job costs but she wasted her money on a really bad boob job.

And I honestly have nothing against boob jobs - even the worst of the fake ones. Her body her business.

12. Making a Statement
She's making her statement. The statement being, " I am better than you, I have made it. I have succeeded, I am happy." Whether success in this case means "I am a pediatrician who worked tirelessly for the first half of my life to amass all of what you see," or "I married a man who spent the first half of his life working tirelessly so that I could acquire all of what you see," the result is the same. The loss of an identity to material goods and a disdain for where and what one came from. While there's nothing wrong buying yourself a new body and luxury car if you've acquired the means to do so, note how the pursuit of happiness never ends. The more you've got, the more you want. It's a race to which the only end in sight is that diamond studded, 200 thread count lined, designer coffin.

21. I feel her pain....
If I run regular in my truck, it pings like the devil on the local hills. I have to run mid-grade or risk frying the valves.

Of course, I'd like a job and such. Perhaps enough income to purchase a replacement vehicle that gets better mileage and can run on regular.

But that's just me.

I do like to choose what I whine about and who I whine to a bit better than the gal in the OP, though. ;)

23. She made the choice to buy the car that required premium gas
so she should suck it up and deal or trade in for a different vehicle. My car also requires premium and I knew that going in when I bought the car.
