Did hackers deface Fox News building in NYC?
Source: Raw Replay
By Stephen C. Webster

In a video published to YouTube, a hacker appears to have changed the text scrolling along the side of the News Corporation building in New York City.

“I accessed the Fox ticker basically to get your attention,” YouTube user hiropro999 wrote. “Also because Fox deserves it: they’re the 24/7 mouthpiece of the right wing. They are huge perpetuators of the big lie.

“This country isn’t broke. Question is: where is the money going?”

The message goes on to blame corporations and tax breaks for wealthy Americans, and it specifically said the individual behind the stunt was not from any hacker group like Anonymous or others.

It was not immediately possible to determine whether the video is legitimate or a clever trick of editing

1. I'd hardly call reprogramming the word scroll "defacing"...
...and if so, then I submit that defacement was a pre-existing condition on this building, due to years of accumulated vulpine excrement.

4. No, I don't think so. Give me a tour of the Fox News operation
in NY, and I could do it, if I could get in. Probably an inside job by an intern there. Easy Peasy.

I once reprogrammed a smaller scroller. I noticed one day that it was made by the same company who made my little window scroller that I used at my little mineral shop. On a hunch, I figured that it used the same wireless programmer that mine used. It did. It took the shopping center three days to notice it.

Ever the prankster....

3. If that's fake, it's pretty good.
There was a lot of detail in there if that was edited in. You can see the line for the screen break and it stays consistent to the building location when the camera is jiggling. The individual lights look good and stay consistent to the building when the camera moves.
