Has anyone noticed that the MSM is making a huge deal out of the "New 112th Congress" Thing?
Edited on Wed Jan-05-11 02:05 PM by whathehell
Every cable network -- even c-span -- has sent out reporters to "cover" the events and interview the various "players".

I don't remember anything even CLOSE to this when the Dems took the House in '08.

...It's almost like Inauguration Day.:eyes:

I even saw MSNBC interview Boner's brother this morning, asking him aobut his brother and what he was like as a kid growing up, etc. I don't remember ANY of that done for the Dems!!!

Which may explain why you don't remember all of the coverage -- and it was extensive -- of that transition and of Pelosi becoming the first female Speaker.

And judging from a number of the comments on this thread, your amnesia is contagious.

Most lame of course is accusing me of not being able to read when my post wasn't in response to yours and thus your criticism was completely misplaced. And when I called you on it, you don't have the grace to admit that you were in error in accusing me of needing remedial reading (which, by the way, is a pretty snarky comment itself, isn't it?)

45. You have to understand, the M$M has a political agenda far different
from The Peoples. We need a real, independent mainstream news outlet that doesn't work for a paymaster with a 'democracy crushing' agenda. If the corporate media outlets continue on like this, we will never see democracy again - just a worsening plutocracy with the 'news' tagging along like dogs following their masters on a hunt.

Bring back the Fairness Doctrine!

we need something like the Fairness Doctrine like yesterday. Yes the media has a conservative bent to put it mildly.

BUT... they did cover this crap in 2006 as well, ALL FUCKING DAY.

There was a different.. shall we say bent on it. If we all want to discuss the different bent... sure... but first we need to start from facts. And fact is that both 2006 and today had coverage all fucking day.

63. As I said, if we are going to discuss the nature of the
coverage, using time is a bad metric. Now type of coverage... Gore invented the Intertubes... just ask CNN.

And while we had the staffers commit a federal felony as they broke into the vote counting in Velusia CO... the media egged them on. Fox was the worst, CNN came close.

Why Media Matters was organized and they do yeoman's work. I'd love to see a COMPARISON of the coverage of 2006 and today on SUBSTANTIVE issues.

Some things I am beting they will find...

Beehner talked of promises and how we are going to fix the country... while Speaker Pelosi spent too much time with Makeup and why the fuck did she bring out the grand kids?

Those are the differences and to the ear of the average "voter" which sounds more manly?
