Breitbart, the GOP, and the Corporate Media have won

Top headline right now on Google News reads: "Congressman says he did not post lewd photo on Twitter". News source? CNN. Second headline on Google News reads: "Rep. Weiner uncertain whether lewd photo was of him." News source? Reuters.

This is the world we find ourselves living in: People associated with a corporate-funded RW prank site manipulate a Democratic congressman's Twitter feed backdrop with a lewd image, forward said lewd image to one of the congressman's constituents, and actually manage to have "reporters" from supposedly august news organizations like CNN grill the targeted congressman about something that has http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/05/29/980400/-Breitbarts-#TwitterHoaxHow-It-Went-Down-%28updated-wsmoking-gun%29?detail=hide">already been clearly demonstrated was a hoaxed image and politically-based prank.

And if the targeted congressman perhaps ineptly defends himself or chooses the wrong words in front of the cameras when he shouldn't have even had to address the manufactured "issue" in the first place? Important issues like the GOP holding America hostage with the debt limit become secondary to carefully-crafted B.S. like Breitbart's prank. Then the GOP and the Corporate Media have won; the country loses. That's all it apparently takes.
