1. Saying it like it is, as usual
The economy isn't growing quickly not because of unions, not because of the budget deficit, not because the wealthiest Americans pay "too much" in taxes (hardy-har-har)....it's because average, middle-class consumers are NOT SPENDING MONEY RIGHT NOW. People do not feel their jobs are secure, and therefore are being very tight with their money. That, and people are focused on rebuilding their retirement savings and paying down their personal debt which accrued during the recession instead of buying a new car, a boat, or a summer home.
