Gov. Christie took a helicopter for a 68 mile trip.
"It is 68 miles from Princeton, New Jersey to Montvale, New Jersey."

http://www.chacha.com/question/how-far-away-is-princeton,-nj-to-montvale,-nj

Christie's trip also required 3 Montvale, NJ police officers, a member of the fire department, and a
state car had to be driven to Montvale, NJ from an unknown place to drive Christie and his
wife the 100 yds. to and fro from the helicopter to the stands where he watched the game for
5 innings. So along with the flying time for the helicopter, his body guards, police and fire personal,
and the state car the whole trip had to have a cost in excess of $6,000.00.

Good thing that Christie is standing up to government waste.

4. He has a very large "bottom line."
In Ohio Kasich refused to live in the Governor's house .... which is very nice and 5 minutes @ most
from the state capital ...... he needs to live 30 miles away in his own home so his daughter can go to
a private Christian school ... meanwhile he has gutted funds for public schools.

8. Not defending his use of a helicopter...
but...

Those 68 miles are a minimum 2 hour drive each way. On a good day.

However, I'm sure he could have arranged his schedule in such a way that he could have been performing other business in the region that day, therefore not needing the helicopter.

And yeah, I've spent decades in NJ before opting for overseas living...

9. He would still get Highway Patrol escort
Which should shorten that trip and not need to spend what it cost to operate a helicopter.
