Suggestions on where to search Fox News transcript archives?
(BTW, I just went to their website hoping to find a link to search for transcripts, no luck. But you really should check out the home page. There are some interesting photo selections, and placements. ;) )

Other than subscribing to sites like Lexis-Nexis, is there a way to search Fox transcripts other than a patient Google search?

I'm specifically trying to find where Herman Cain supposedly addressed that 2006 campaign ad ("I don't snuff my own seed"), defending it. It's being dubbed a left-wing smear campaign, but I can't find any evidence to the contrary. It seems pretty clear that he did that ad.

Here's a Think Progress link about it: http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2011/05/24/168633/herman-cain-led-radical-group-that-accused-democrats-of-wanting-to-kill-black-babies/

I want to find definitive proof that Cain did this, and admits to it, for a libertarian relative who is a big Cain fan, but he would be turned off if this ad ends up being authentic.

:puke:

1. The Memory Hole?
In the walls of the cubicle there were three orifices. To the right of the speakwrite, a small pneumatic tube for written messages, to the left, a larger one for newspapers; and in the side wall, within easy reach of Winston's arm, a large oblong slit protected by a wire grating. This last was for the disposal of waste paper. Similar slits existed in thousands or tens of thousands throughout the building, not only in every room but at short intervals in every corridor. For some reason they were nicknamed memory holes. When one knew that any document was due for destruction, or even when one saw a scrap of waste paper lying about, it was an automatic action to lift the flap of the nearest memory hole and drop it in, whereupon it would be whirled away on a current of warm air to the enormous furnaces which were hidden somewhere in the recesses of the building.

2. Here's the ad itself
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daISg1Hc0ps

There are links from there to other Herman Cain ads, so you can compare the voice. Sure sounds like him to me.

4. It does sound like him. There are TONS of hits with that YouTube link...
I think that Think Progress link I posted included that. Thanks for posting just that for those who haven't heard about this.

How pathetic.

I love how he and Palin like to make themselves out as outsiders and not part of the political or media machine, but they pander worse than anyone.
