Now you can track the depression in REAL time.
( as opposed to the imaginary Wash. D.C. adjusted figures data

1. Thanks
Thanks, yeah definitely an eye opener.
Don't go to the main http://www.dailyjobcuts.com
Seems like this month isn't starting out too great either. But I guess I would rather be informed vs walking around clueless.

6. "be informed vs walking around clueless."
I change my mind about that at least once a day.

Reality can bite.
Ignorance is NOT bliss, tho.

Sigh.

2. Wow, even the Goodwill is going out of biz. We're sunk.
Many of us have made good use of second hand stores for the many years. The fact that any of these is closing for lack of business is double-scary. I better wear these old jeans until the knees wear through. No Goodwill near me but I do have a Salvation Army store. Whatever their politics, I need to save money.

3. this isn't really all that useful of information
honestly. which is why people use aggregate data. in a country of 330 million people, with (According to this aggregator 23,803,132 companies, it's not really meaningful on a large scale to talk about 32 closing in one month. or even layoffs, as hurtful as each individual one must be for the people involved (heck, I got laid off in early 2007, when the unemployment rate in my area, DC, for people like me was under 2%. was that meaningful economic data? a sign of the apocalypse?)

is there a 'daily job creation' site as well? without that data, or a 'new businesses created' one, this is just doom and gloom.

4. 2 cents
Actually in my books Doom and Gloom is called being lied too. Nothing is more gloom than not haven't a clue what is coming or not being told about it. To each there own, I personally like as much information as possible, give it to me bad or good. Like with anything else you filter thought it and just use what is pertinent to yourself.
