12. It's been pointed out that if a person sees the '60s as a era of bad events for America...
they likely are a conservative now. From the awakening on the Viet Nam War to reproductive and civil rights, from decriminalization of marijuana to women entering the workforce on an even footing, uberconservatives spent the '60s weeping in their palms and decrying the ramifications of LBJ's Great Society. The '60s clearly divided the country between Democrats and Republicans along social and idealogical lines that remain today.

If on the other hand, a person sees the '60s as an era of great social progress, they likely are liberals today. Young conservatives nowadays yearn for a return to an era they really can't comprehend, because as I often say: "they weren't there, man".
