questionable stories about Democrats. We eat stuff like that right up on DU, it seems. Feed some bullshit to Breitbart so he can post it on his scuzzy blog and tweet it and even DUers are ready to bail on whomever is the target.

Folks! Can we not hold anything together for a day or two? Why is anyone listening to Breitbart in the first place? He's a proven liar and a scam artist.

For pete's sake!

2. True. So why are so many people breathlessly posting his
every word on DU? It's pretty disgusting, if you ask me. This phenomenon on DU is seriously detracting from the goals of the site, I believe. We're instantly ready to jump on every negative story about even the staunchest progressives, and even when the source is a scum like Breitbart.

I'm disgusted by this. I truly am.

15. People in the mainstream do not know Breibart the way you do.
This is not about how you feel about the news that MSNBC is spewing. It's about keeping the discussion as honest as possible so that the right-wingers don't send their message out to the mainstream without challenge.

17. But, DU does not represent the mainstream, I thought.
I thought we were the thoughtful, cautious, and careful wing of the party. Perhaps I was incorrect in my assumption. Sad, if true.

3. He's done a good job of stirring things up...and he has been egged on by the media...
which is why people on DU get a bit excited when he comes out with a new attack.

He's not going away just because DU ignores him.

5. Actually all they need to do to win is mention that All Democrats have sex
Publicly accusing your opponent of having sex will kill their chances of wining an election because that is all the voters will be able to think about when they go to the poll.

9. Yes, but I somehow doubt that they are ashamed.
I truly do.

Every thread that starts with something like "Well....what if it's all true?" sends up a big alarm flag and I hear alarm bells ringing.

I'm sure it's all innocent and stuff, and people are just displaying their pessimism or something. Yeah, that's the ticket...

I would like to believe those voices were only from paid disrupters but I am very afraid that there really is one born every minute and DU has them.

12. Yes, I do remember. I remember lots of things.
I have a very, very good memory. It's one of the few frustrations I have with DU. We're all too ready when the bus goes by to push whoever's handy under it.

It's always puzzled me, sort of...

10. Truer words were never posted
If you want to hear bullshit gossip about Democrats you shouldn't waste time here on DU. Just turn your TV to one of the cable "news" channels and you can look forward to endless chatter about meaningless crap while the real story gets missed, ignored or lied about.

The only thing I want to read about Brainfart is that Shirley Sherrod has won her ginormous lawsuit against him and he is now working as a greeter at Walmart.

14. Personally, I think he's made that mistake more than once
already. And yet, the media ignores those mistakes. We even ignore them here on DU, it seems. That's what bothers me. We're more insistent that blatant criminals get their presumption of innocence than we are with Democratic politicians. For them, the condemnation is always nearby. No proof required. Any innuendo will do.

16. What would you prefer MineralMan?
That he succeeds in bringing down Weiner in what may turn out to be a private matter? Because, lord knows they've down that before. Now they know all they have to do is hack into people's computers to find where they're most vulnerable, and then track down and harass young ladies until they break.

If you can live with that, just let me know.

Sherrod and Acorn - innocent

Weiner is not helping himself by his wishy-washy answers

It is very sad to watch
