Corbett's new vehicle sparks controversy!(r,Pa.)
State also bought SUVs for first lady, lieutenant governor and his wife.

Gov. Tom Corbett has a new ride. So does his first lady. And his lieutenant governor. And the lieutenant governor's wife.

The taxpayer tab: $186,000.

In speech after speech, he has said he believes everyone must sacrifice as the state seeks to resolve an estimated $4 billion deficit next year.

"The sacrifice must be collective," Mr. Corbett said in his March 8 budget address, "as will be the ultimate rewards."

2. What the frack?
First Christie and the helicopter, now this. There is no money for any of this, but expenses are being billed to the state. That's fiscal discipline.

6. Why does the Lt. Governor's wife need a $40K SUV from the State??
Meanwhile, several thousand teaching positions are being eliminated in public schools this year because of Corbett's budget cuts. He also is trying to cut all state funding to Pa. state universities by 50% percent, which would be the most severe higher education funding cut among any state. The worst comparison I saw was about 35% in a couple other states over a 3 year period.

7. Corbett is afraid to speak to anyone other than corporations, gas drillers and voucher supporters
It reminds me of King George Bush at his lowest point, when he would only speak at military bases. Corbett will only speak before expensive chamber of commerce lunches, school voucher supporters and gas driller conventions.

10. Over 3,000 Layoff Notices Issued by Phila. School District
Edited on Tue Jun-07-11 11:55 AM by JPZenger
As part of Corbett's plan to cut $1 billion of funding to public schools in PA, yesterday the Phila. School District issued over 3,000 layoff notices. Hundreds of additional jobs have also been eliminated by attrition.

How's the new SUV ride, Mrs. Corbett?
