I am sure jounalism schools are still graduating ethical, young, competent people
And yet, the public is strapped with Tim Russert's demon spawn, smirking on the teevee while reporting WeinerNooz.

1. The public is strapped, because our public airwaves are owned
by private companies that have a political agenda and are not afraid to chance the publics opinion on certain aspects of society. It has gone from objective reporting, to subjective advice.

2. Unfortunately the news media has become so large and bloated
that needs to be constantly fed new stories or things blown out of proportion to keep people tuned it 24/7.

And Tim Russerts son is a dufus of enormous proportions.

3. I graduated from business school as an
ethical, young competent person and then I was thrown into the real world of business on my first job at a bank. I almost got fired because I refused to lie on the phone when the boss asked me to. I learned quickly that in business, whatever ethics you have in private life are left at the threshold of your work place. I imagine working at Fox News is a similar experience.

4. Schools are more realistic these days
They will tell you clearly and upfront that ethics come down the chain of command like everything else. What is 'ethical' for you is doing what your bosses have decided is ethical.
